WHO WE ARE

Coach Desmond teach my 2 daughters for swimming. They enjoyed his classes and have learnt how to swim. He is attentive to each student and always create enjoyable lessons for them.

My son has been with Coach Desmond’s swim school Tech Athlete since 2022. Fast forward 2 years, my son is now a confident swimmer and will be going for his Swimsafer Level 4 competency test next. Beyond helping the kids to acquire these competencies, Coach Desmond (the lead coach in the school) is someone who believes strongly in making the class fun. As with learning any other skill, becoming a good swimmer requires dedication and effort. In this regard, ensuring that the children have fun and are motivated to come to lessons is definitely something very important (but often overlooked by other parents). If you are looking for a good coach to teach your children, Tech Athlete is the place to go to! 😊

It’s my absolute pleasure to recommend Desmond Yong Teck Yeow and his team at Tech Athlete Management. Tech Athlete Management have been managing my school swimming CCA since January 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the coaches from Tech Athlete Management and came to know them as professional, caring, and incredibly hardworking. Their knowledge of swimming and expertise in coaching students have brought many students to enrol in our swimming programme. During the pandemic, their online zoom sessions were able to engage the students with interesting powerpoints, videos and exercises. Tech Athlete Management is a pleasure to work with and I hope to be able to renew our contract with them next year.

Tech Athlete Management, Mr Desmond Yong, the service provider has provided our school, SwimSafer swimming programme for the year 2017. He is indeed a helpful and meticulous person who ensures that our requirements and standards of the programme are met. He motivates his team of coaches and ensures that they execute quality coaching and provide an enjoyable learning platform for our pupils. He also works promptly with feedback and convey necessary follow-up instructions to his team to ensure a more effective programme. Thank you for his coaching and services throughout the whole swimsafer programme.

Coach Desmond has been Chua Chu Kang Secondary School’s Swimming CCA coach from 2020 to 2021. He was always professional during every CCA training session. He arrived on time and treated all swimmers the same. He was well prepared for each training session, with the goals of each session in mind and shared them with the students so that they knew what they were training for. During training sessions at a swimming pool, safety was the topmost consideration. Student swimmers were trained to give their best efforts and learned to persevere even when they thought they were too tired to swim. He would point out errors in swimming techniques and patiently explain and correct the swimmers until they have the correct techniques. During the COVID period, students had online training sessions at home. Coach Desmond and another coach, Coach Guan Ki, prepared enriching sessions that students do at home together during training. When training resumed in school, varied physical training (free weights, exercise bands, etc) sessions were conducted to maintain students’ strength and endurance levels, as well as interest and motivational levels. Swimming CCA teachers and swimmers thank Coach Desmond for all his efforts and dedication these years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
